April 11th is National Pet Day, which can mean only one thing – a great excuse to bring your dogs into the office!
Although the celebration only lasts for one day, many companies nationwide (and worldwide) are considering instating dog-friendly policies all year round, a great result for animal lovers everywhere. Nestle for example, have been running a Pets at Work programme for a number of years now and have reported increased levels of employee productivity and well-being. Why not use the day as a trial run for your company’s very own dog-friendly policy? It could do wonders for the business.
Of course, dogs come in a whole range of breeds and sizes, some of which are more suited to an office environment than others. You might be hard-pressed to fit a St Bernard into a conventional workspace, for example! The following breeds are just a few you might consider bringing in as excellent office companions.
Our top choice here at Leemic – our office poodle Ronnie! On top of being gorgeously cute, poodles are a great choice if you or your co-workers suffer from allergies, as they are hypoallergenic. They are also known for being one of the more intelligent dog breeds and for their friendly temperament. Whats not to love?!
Pugs are a pint-sized classic breed and are perfect for putting a smile on the faces of employees. Their distinctive appearance is the subject of countless viral YouTube videos, and they are perfect if you’re looking to improve the well-being of colleagues with a little puppy love.
One of the best things about chihuahuas is their compact size, perfect for fitting into tight office spaces. They are more than happy to lazily sit on a worker’s lap for hours on end, providing calm company during times of stress.
Beagles are a great breed to have in an office as they are keen to please their owners and human pals. This means that they are equally happy to go for some lunchtime walks as they are to sit calmly under the desk. A truly versatile and lovable companion!
Labradors are one of the most intelligent and loyal breeds out there, great for brightening up even the dullest of days in the office!
If all of that doesn’t raise the desire for an office dog then we don’t know what will…
